:Tamiya1:

Just wondering if you guys have any ide what the King Hauler, GlobeLiner and the Knight Hauler is supose too be a copi of?

The Ford Aeromax is ok, and so is all the european trucks.

I think the GlobeLiner looks a bit like the International Eagle or a older Mack COE.
The King Hauler looks like a Peterbilt, Kenworth or even a Fraightliner.
Knight Hauler I'm not sure.

And don't forget, they suppose to look alike, and not look EXACTLY like (always a license issue I suppose)

Apart of the aircooler VERY close if you ask me :

I would suggest that the Tamiya Knight Hauler is a Freightliner Coronado. Since the Knight Hauler was released in 2003 Tamiya should have used the 2002 or 2003 Coronado as a basis for their design. Here is why I believe the Coronado to be the inspirational source:
The differences (probably copyright issues) between the two are:

Different lights
Single instead of split windshield
Different front bumper
The window on the sleeper cabs right side

Apart from the above, everything else is really similar. The general design with lines and shapes of most body panels are identical. Even on a detailed level the comparison holds. Look closely at the following details:

Fuel tanks, toolboxes and step plates
Air dryes,
Exhaust stacks
The shape of the extended sleeper cab with the raised roof (with its three windows)
The roof visor and its lamps (note that the shape is identical but that FL's has less chrome)
The chrome (and its shape) along the bottom of the cab (Knight Hauler parts P11-P16).

What about the Globe Liner and King Hauler, are there other/more precise suggestions to what trucks they are modelled on?

I would be nice to have those bumpers as an alternative to the crome one. I rarely see the crome bumper on these trucks .

The King Hauler is mostly resembles something of a Peterbilt 379, mostly by hood details such as rivet strips, curve of the top of the hood and grill and the bumper.

The toolbox and battery box are more or less from a Kenworth, as well as the headlights in the fender, but the headlights should be of a dual bucket configuration.

The Globeliner is hard to distinguish as anything, but the front end is shaped more of an International Harvester yet the body is too square to make that true. The cab itself could be either a Kenworth K123 or Peterbilt 352.

The first time my stepfather saw my King Hauler, he thought it looked a lot like a Kenworth. He's been a long haul driver for 30+ years so I'm pretty sure he's seen a LOT of trucks.

And on a side note, I once was playing with a modded Clod Buster and went over a jump not knowing the track director placed his King Hauler out there near where I was playing. I never would've thought that that truck would have survived as big a hit as it got, but all I did was knock the battery cover off of the tractor. And tore the body up on the Clod!!

The GMC General don't look very simular to the King Hauler I think.
Not the grill, hood, fenders, or even the air-cleaner.

The Pete looks more like it.
