Supra found that getting paint to stick to the galvanized chassis is difficult. In leiu of this, Supra used "self etching" aerosol primer, and Duplicolor engine enamel.
Self etching primer is expensive (upwards of $12 per can), but bonds quite well to the chassis.
Duplicolor engine enamel leaves a super glossy finish that is chemical resistent and very hard. It seems to be the next best thing to powder coat.

cool thanks, i think maybe polishing would be easier but color would make it different.
hey do you know how to strip and repair the body as well?
ive heard that brake fluid and or oven cleaner but iono, and i ended up cracking the license holder so :( let me know thanks

Supra stripped a body using brake fluid (not cleaner). It required several days of soaking and scrubbing with a green scubbing pad. Others may have experience with the oven cleaner.
Supra recommends painting the chassis. Polishing will leave abre metal, which is prone to oxidation. Paint will seal it, and keep it looking good.
The body can be repaired with styrene sheet reinforcements and model glue. If filling is needed, Squadron Green Putty works well on small holes. Glueing in sheet styrene is better for larger holes.

Good surface prep will remove all oils and grime. Supra uses lacquer thinner for metal parts, and rubbing alcohol for plastic parts. be sure not touch the parts once you have wiped them down or it will leave trace oils from your skin.

.... can you help with electronics?
Supra is mostly a plug & play kinda guy, but may be of some assistance.

Supra, Thanks for the tip on the self etching primer. Going to try it on the axles and tranny on my Blazer. Found some at an Advance Auto store for just over $5 per can. Not thrilled with the color as I will have to use another color to cover it before final paint. But if it works it will save me lots of money as I was thinking of having these parts powder coated.:first:

The best ESC you could get it should have different acceleration curves, you can select then usually pushing a small button.

yeah i was looking at different esc like those, let me ask when you have an esc like those do you still need throttle linkage/servo?:help:

No linkages or seperate sevos for speed. That is one of the advantages of the ESC. Plus a much greater control of your speed.

Can't really help you with the ESC for a 750 motor. Maybe one of the many builders can help you. I only have experience with the 540 and 550 motors and ESCs. I had a Bruiser many years ago which I sold like an idiot and just used the mech. speed control. Redoing a Blazer now but it has a 540 in it.

supra!!! hey when you soaked the body in brake fluid(alot of people seem do be doing it) what kind of pad or rag or sandpaper did you use to clean the body and get the paint off? thanks

Supra used a green plastic scouring pad and an old toothbrush.

Supra would not use anything abrasive to plastic for fear of rubbing off the detailed body parts.
It took 3 days and a lot of scrubbing, but it was worth the effort to come out with a perfectly stripped body.

Supra was recently turned on to this cement by a pro model builder at his LHS.

Supra's did the same if he really mashed down on the screws. Supra then baked it in the oven at 250 to cure the paint, which helped a little.
