OK im hooked. I was out w/ my 2 year old last weekend at a tag sale and he forced me to buying this old car for a buck. Turns out it is this bruiser and I have tinkering with it all week and I am hooked. This thing is very cool!
Hopefully with some help I am looking to restoring this and getting it GOING.
Couple questions
1) It needs a battery and not sure where to find one. Does it take a standard battery
2) Transmission oil - what can i use - I cant seem to find factory oil so will any 3 in 1 oil work?
3) I may need to replace the controller since batt acid leaked into the one I have. Any options recommended?
Thanks in advance and look forward to getting this going!!

Forced you eh.

It'll take any battery. The original was huge, so a modern stick pack will fit fine.
3 in 1 oil will work fine, maybe some gun oil otherwise. I use Hoppes 9 oil from ****'s sporting goods.
Look into Spektrum's DX5e. I bought mine off an eBay vendor for less than $100.

Any pics?!

That is awesome!

Any 7.2v battery will work on it. If you want a vintage one, I have one, but you can find them online too. I would be careful using a LiPo battery, and would stick with NiCd batteries for it. Just my opinion though. Go with a 4 channel radio/receiver set-up. Futaba makes a great one, personally I stay away from Spektrum. my two cents, nice to see you found one in the wild!
