NOTE: All body work was done by Dremelit on Scale4x4rc.com (I think he's on here too, he has a Black Knight Hauler with flames and RC4WD dually wheels on it), and this is a work in progress.

Let me start by saying that I think the Tamiya manual three speed transmission is one of the most engeniously designed component in all of RC to date. Keep at it Tamiya!

Now on to pics! I am using a Knight Hauler chassis with RC4WD.com wideners on the four rear wheels, with a custom High Lift body that has been extended to a crew cab, added dually fenders, and added another wheel well. The wideners really help the look of the truck and make it a lot more stable. My list of things to do includes painting the body, and adding a Spaz-Stix black light underbody light kit. This will be the tow vehicle for an '80s style racing monster tank based on a Kyosho Blizzard chassis with a Tamiya Lunchbox body on top. But enough talking, pics!

WOW - Super body work -- I bet that took some patients to get right! And a righteous thing it is!

Me thinks the real 1:1 thing was probably easy to do in comparison to your build!

Again, all thanks for the body work go to Dremelit on Scale4x4rc.org. I think he is Old_Busted_Hotness on this site.

Oh - how'd you do the shift servo and steering? Looks similar to the HigLift -- Easy to do?

I'm working on a Flat Bed project and wanted to Mount battery boxes where the shift servo is currently located. I think it would be ideal to move the tranny back and put the steering up top. Maybe a close-up of the linkage? ;) ;)

Pretty cool, do you own the actual truck in the picture above too?

Yes, all of the items in the abve pictures are owned by me. The pics of the body in progress is from Dremelit. And as for the shifting linkage...I kind of just followed the instructions in the manual....I don't own a High Lift so I probably wouldn't be the one to ask about them.

I think he meant the 1:1 version. That is really comin along nice. I been following it on scale.

Oh, no, the 1:1 was found on a website called USA6x6.com that does 6x6 conversions of light-heavy duty trucks for around 12 grand. The truck is beautiful and I wish I owned it but unfortunately I don't.

A quick update though: the Spaz-Stix black light kit was delivered today and will be mounted either tonight or tomorrow. I will try and get pictures once I get it mounted.

Well I went to a science fair kind of thing this weekend and there was a few guys with rockets there, so I got started talking to them about a rocket truck project. They said that even with a 6 pound truck (the stock weight of a Tamiya big rig) that the motors I was talking about would push it well over 120 mph...Plus, the the three speed of the Tamiya big rigs you can set it between gears, kind of like a clutch or nuetral setting that provides no rolling resistance...And this truck was built to be a two rig...So here is the question: Would you guys like to see a Tandem Dually F350 Tow Truck pulling a Tandem Dually rocket powered truck? I know there will be a question about scale, but the 1:1 truck that mine would be inspired by, Ed Shockleys Shockwave, was custom built to be smaller than regular big rig, and is actually about the size of a long bed dually truck. So, yay, or nay?

I finally got a chance to lay down the first coat of gloss black for this thing, and it looks killer! I won't be posting any other pictures of the truck until everything is painted, but it shouldn't be much longer until it is done!

Well, no pics yet...But how about a video of the holographic paint?

...Well, the video is loading, will be up in a few minutes.

The video doesn't do the thing justice-it's absolutely amazing how well this thing goes through the colors.

Well I got the body mounted on the chassis. It's not finished yet, I still need to put some green on it and the clear coat over that, plus finish fitting all the windows, but I wanted to see what it looked like. It sits pretty well, I just need to reconfigure a few wires. Finished pics will be up within the next few days.
