Sand for a yard? Fix for gears...

I have or hopefully had a problem with sand and mud getting in my Gears(Pinion/Spur).I was cleaning them after each run due to sand getting mashed in the gears.Fearing they would wear faster i set out to make fender wells/Flares.Heres what i got so far as its 12:30 at night.As you go down the first 4 are with the rough in and the last is a stock shot.Feedback or questions maybe some tips ..

Looks like they will work great. Just trim them up.

How are you going to attach them?

screws i think.I can drill through the fender where bushwhacker type would fit. Iwont need more then 6 per side so im trying to get spacing correct.
