I have Hilux highlift with MFU (Tundra is next) I want to replace the stock kit motor with either the Tamiya Sport Tuned motor or Tamiya Lightly Tuned motor. My question is which of the two motor is suitable for the highlift ?
for general purpose use of my hightlift.
thanks

The Sport Tuned and Lightly Tuned motors are a lower turn then the stock, so they are going to be faster.
If you are looking for a trail rig / crawler, then you want a higher turn motor which will be slower. If you are looking for a mess around basher, then then either of the motors you mentioned should be fine.

thanks but i thought the stock motor is about 28T same as lightly tuned motor but less torque and sport tuned is 27T for the US version

The Tamiya Sport Tuned motor is 23 turns
The Tamiya Lightly Tuned motor is 28 turns
The Tamiya 540 motor is 27 turns
So, I stand corrected on the Lightly Tuned, but what I said holds true for the Sport Tuned.

why not a brushless stock motor? with stock gearing not very fast but a ton of torque.
i'm using a novak 13.5 and xbr speedo.

Although I see no reason for one who wants to keep it all Tamiya to change the motor the Dirt Tuned would be a better choice than those you mention. It has more torque than the sport tuned and is better suited for offroad use.
The only reason I see for changing the motor would be if you run much larger tires and thus need the extra torque. Then you are better off with one of the high turn/high torque crawler motors.
Wha ESC do you run? The MFU will be at its limit with the Dirt tuned and you might acutally overheat it. The same goes for the TEU-101BK. The TEU-302BK should cope, the Volacdefinitely will, but that has no reverse...

I have the MFU in the Hilux hilift now but I have a spare Novak SuperRooster that I will use for Tundra when I get it. The lightly tuned motor has more torque than the dirt tuned motor also Tamiya has a new CR tuned motor comming out (35T) so I think I will go with lightly tuned motor got my hilux since it has 2.2 tires and sport tuned for the tundra for slighty faster speed
