Anyone have any luck with the straight axle adapters from rc4wd? i installed a set on my hi lift in progress, and had to dremel the axle shafts for them to fit. they advertise them for use with the hi lift, but they just didnt fit without the dremel.

I too had a hard time fitting them as well. I had to flatten the ball, grind out some of the cup, and elongingate the holes in the axle housing. But after all that they fit well and secure.

I don't know exactly what kind of parts you mean, but if you mean adapters to make 2.2 wheels fit. Then I could recommend the junfac ones, I use them without any problem, or mod needed.

They are refering to the adapters the eliminate the the axle "C"s and sterring knuckles on the rear axle.

yes, RC4WD lists the highlift

however

they were made for, and really fit the TLT better and you will need more modifications for the highlift axles. They should mention it, and even a tutorial or instructions covering the extra steps.

DONT BUY THESE ADAPTERS FOR THE F-350, They were not designed for this truck. I contacted mike from Turtlecrawler.com, he designed these adapters, in his email, he states that they were not made for the F350, and that RC4WD listed them as such because of ONE customer said that they got them to fit. save your self the time, and headache and just buy a complete straight axle, or just use the kit supplied connectors to eliminate the rear steer. If i knew it was gonna turn into a headache, i would have saved the $30.

Email correspondance:
Hey Anthony,

They are not made to fit the F350 axles, only the TLT axles. RC4WD was going to design a set for the F350 until a customer told them that they do fit the F350.... So because of one customer, this has become a huge mess. I will bring this up with RC4WD again and get them to remove the F350 from the description.

i purchased a set of these adapters from RC4WD, and needed to dremel alot of material from the axles to fit on the F350? whats the deal? are these designed for the f350, of just the tlt? i wasnt too happy to have to dremel the axle shafts, i didnt have much choice as i had already cut down the steering knuckles. if this isnt designed for the F350 than they shouldnt be advertised as such froma retailer selling them.
thank you for your time.
